What to Have Ready

It speeds things up if you know roughly how big the area is, how old the existing concrete is, and where water goes after a heavy rain. Photos help more than descriptions — one wide shot and one close-up of the worst spot usually tells us most of what we need before we arrive.

What Happens on the Site Visit

We walk the area with you first and listen to what is bothering you about it, because the thing you notice and the thing causing it are often in two different places. Then we measure, check the pitch with a level, look at where downspouts discharge and where water sits after rain, and probe or sound the existing slab to judge its thickness and whether the base under it is still supporting it. On a wall or a graded job we take elevations.

You get the written estimate after that, with the scope spelled out — slab thickness, base depth, reinforcement, finish, what gets hauled away, and what happens if we hit rock. The visit takes twenty to forty minutes for most residential work and there is no charge and no obligation attached to it.

When to Call About Scheduling

The pouring season here runs roughly April through November, and spring fills up first because everyone sees their winter damage in the same two weeks. If you are planning work for next year, calling over the winter gets you a better spot on the calendar and a longer window to make decisions. Late summer and early fall are the easiest times to book and still let a pour cure properly before the first hard freeze.
